about us

The Utah Digital Archives (UDA) provides enhanced access to archival and manuscript collections at the University of Utah and Utah State University through a union database of Encoded Archival Description (EAD) finding aids. Contact either entity through the contact us page.

Significant subjects include the major economic forces in the region- agriculture, development of agriculture and natural resources; urban and rural social and progressive movements; local state, regional, and national politics; outdoor recreation; environmental archives; university archives; Native American language and culture; and the place of religious communities in the region.

The Utah Digital Archives pilot project is an offshoot of a 2007 LSTA grant awarded to the Utah Manuscript Association to create a union database of finding guides for the state of Utah. In attempting to find a better delivery platform Utah State University and the University of Utah have teamed together with Northwest Digital Archives to deliver Utah guides as a pilot project.
